HAPPENING SOON- ONE OF CUBA MAJOR FESTIVALS
August 2008-HAVANA FESTIVAL, El Malecon
Traditional music, contemporary sounds, and a succession of parades and processions run the length of the Malécon, with conga lines and dancers filtering out from everywhere. It is the festival of music, dance, fireworks, parades, processions, rum so expect lots of fun.

Feb 26-Mar 3, 2007- ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF THE HAVANA CIGAR, Havana
The Habanos Festival is the largest international gathering for the world’s finest cigars, attracting over 5000 people in recent years. Festivities include prestigious auctions, a gala dinner, exhibitions and an awards ceremony, plus visits to tobacco plantations and cigar factories where they roll Havana's best known brands such as Romeo y Julieta.

Cuba will be hosting a number of activities and events between April-July to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Finca Vigia Museum, which used to be the former residence of Ernest Hemmingway, US author and 1952 Literature Nobel Prize winner. Plus 2007 is the 108th birthday of Ernest Hemmingway.

Jan 2008 (NEW YEAR's DAY)- 49th ANNIVERSARY OF THE TRIUMPH OF THE REVOLUTION
One of Cuba's biggest events is the commemoration of the 1959 revolution led by Fidel Castro. The day is officlally marked with Castro and revolutionaries entering the city of Santiago. This day is highlighted with a variety of music, parades and other cultural events.

Oct 1st - 30 Nov 2008- INTERNATIONAL BALLET FESTIVAL OF HAVANA
It was in 1960 that the first International Ballet of Havana was held. From 1974 it has become a biennial event. This event is huge and is one of the most prestigious ballet festivals in Cuba, attracting top dancers from around the world to perform with Cuba’s own dancers from the National Ballet of Cuba.
