All Clients travelling to Cuba require a Visa. The Visa is valid for a month and comes in the form of a Tourist Card. Regent Holidays are authorised stockholders of these Tourist Cards. The Tourist Card is required by all and includes infants.
UK and non-UK residents can use the Tourist Cards however if you are in doubt and a non-UK resident please contact your own Embassey or Consulate. You can also contact the Cuban Consulate on 0207 240 2488.
CURRIENCES
Cuba has introduced Cuban Convertible Pesos known as CUC which is practically on par with the US dollar. It is advisable to take UK sterling or Euro's as Dollar carries and exchange fee of 10% into CUC.
Credit Cards: Visa and Mastercards not issued by an American institution is acceptable in all the major shops and hotels in Cuba. Please ensure that your credit card is not back by an American bank as it will not be usable in CUba. Using Credit Card means an additional charge of around 11% so it is advisable to take cash if you can.
ALL INCLUSIVE
There are plenty of All Inclusive hotels in Cuban resorts. The All Inclusive concept means that all meals and drinks are included in the price as well as non-motorised sports (subject to availability). The All Inclusive does not relate to room categories as our prices are based on standard rooms, if you wish to have a sea view room or a suite please ask us to quote you.
Some of the All Inclusive hotels will make a charge for mineral waters as this is not covered by the rates.
The level of service is very much depended on the category of hotel you book into - the lower star rated will have local drinks while the higher star rated hotels will serve local as well as International brands.
HOTELS
It is our priority to ensure that the hotels we feature provide a minimum basic standard of service. Many of the resort hotels are run under the management of large international chains and the standards tend to reflect this. Yet in smaller resorts, or off-the-beaten track hotels, the standards may be lower.
We use local rating for hotels which may be higher than those given to similar hotels in Europe.
Occasionally, a hotel may curtail or withdraw services. Should we be informed prior to your departure, or are aware of such changes at the time of booking, we will notify you immediately.
Please advise us at the time of booking of any specific requests, therefore we can check with the hotel to ensure these services are available. It is important to note that although most hotels have ensuite facilities, showers rather than bathtubs are more common in hotel bathrooms.
COMPUTERS
All DVD readers and writers are not allowed into Cuba. This includes those on a laptop.
If you are caught at the airport, the item will be confiscated and returned when you leave Cuba - However there will be a storage charge payable - BEST ADVICE is not to take it.
