Cuba has a world class reputation as a destination for both big game fishing and fly fishing - or bone fishing as it's known in this part of the world. The fishing trip incorporates both, in a variety of locations: you'll be able to emulate the great Ernest Hemingway as you fish for Marlin and Swordfish in the azure waters of the Cuban archipelago; then down at Zapata, we'll take you out on the Las Salinas coastal flats for excellent bone fishing and along the Hatiguanico River to fish for Tarpon.

Day 1: Welcome to Cuba
Arrive Havana and transfer to the Hotel Sevilla for a welcome cocktail and dinner.

Day 2: Big Game fishing offshore
Transfer from your hotel to Hemingway's Marina, where you'll embark on a charter fishing yacht for your choice of four, six or eight hours of big game fishing. Your expert crew will take you to the best areas for Barracuda, Billfish, Marlin, Sailfish, Swordfish or Wahoo and you will be supplied with all the equipment you need, including fishing gear and bait.
The coastal formations around the islands are ideally attractive to innumberable species such as Bass, Porgy, Sailfish and Marlin, while the channels between the cays are home to Macabi, Shad and Mullet.
Our crews are extremely experienced in finding the quarry, the most appropriate bait, the timing and the technique - in fact, everything you need for a successful day's fishing. The hotel will provide you with a packed lunch and drinks for the day. The rest of the afternoon at leisure, with dinner in your hotel.

Day 3: Big Game fishing offshore
Once again, pick up your charter yacht at Hemingway's Marina for another four,six or eight hours of the ultimate fishing experience. Try the same waters or ask the crew to take you somewhere different. Maybe this time you'll land a record-breaker or catch the one that got away yesterday! Your hotel will provide a packed lunch and drinks. Upon your return, enjoy some time in Havana until dinner at your hotel.

Day 4: Havana to Zapata
South east of Havana, the Zapata National Park is a beautiful luscious peninsula which has been protected by the Government from commercial fishing. Today, a scenic drive across the island will bring you to this nature-lover's paradise, where you will check into and dine at the nearby Playa Larga Hotel.

Day 5: Bone fishing on Las Salinas Flats
You'll be taken through the National Park to the salt flats of Las Salinas for a full day's salt-water fly or bone fishing. Each angler has his or her own personal guide who will take them in a flat-bottomed skiff to the best fishing. You can angle from the boat or by wading in the warm, shallow waters. This remote area of flats, lagoons and channels is teaming with flat fish of all kinds, including Bonefish, Permit, Jack Crevalle and Barracuda, and as only six anglers are allowed on the flats at any one time, there is no danger of over-fishing. You will be provided with a packed lunch and dinner will be in your hotel.

Day 6: Tarpon fish on the Hatiguanico River
Travel to the nearby Hatiguanico River for the full day's tarpon fishing. Each boat will take two anglers with one guide up the river to angle for tarpon, which can weigh up to 30lbs, and snook, which can wigh up to 20lbs. You will be provided with a packed lunch and dinner will be in your hotel.

Day 7: Bone fishing on Las Salinas flats
This is another opportunity for angling on the beautiful Las Salinas flats for the day, before returning for your final eveing at Playa Larga Hotel.

Day 8: Homeward Bound
Transfer to Havana Airport for your return flight.
